Sponsorship Opportunities
Many local corporations have assisted us over the years in helping to educate the public about the history and sacrifices made by the men and women of our Armed Forces. They do this through the sponsorship of special events and/or exhibitions. All corporate sponsors are recognized in local media coverage leading up to and covering such events, in on-site advertisements during the events, in the KIDD's Compass museum newsletter which is distributed to our membership throughout the nation, and on our website. |
|
Some of the past events, fundraisers, and traveling exhibits that have been held at the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial include the following:
|
Sir Francis Drake's GOLDEN HINDE called on Baton Rouge in August of 1989 and drew over 100,000 people to the riverfront. |
|
The public was able to tour the HMS BOUNTY free of charge during her Christmas visit in 2002 thanks to the generosity of local sponsors. Photo copyright by HMS BOUNTY. |
Some businesses work with the museum to establish a CORPORATE FREE DAY during which the public is invited to tour the museum at no charge courtesy of their company. Such events are usually timed to take advantage of a special patriotic holiday (like Armed Forces Day, Flag Day, President's Day, etc.).
Others may join forces with a charitable organization for a special fundraiser, using the museum as their venue, as occurred with the M*A*S*H* Bash blood drive and the KIDD For Kids fundraiser for CASA.
Other organizations have assisted the museum from time to time by funding special projects or new exhibits. |
