The Confederate SLIDELL (1862 ~ 1863):
Not much information has survived to the present day concerning the Confederate gunboat CSS SLIDELL. What facts are known revolve largely around her construction and her eventual destruction. The SLIDELL was built at New Orleans, Louisiana, in early 1862. She was later destroyed on the Tennessee River prior to February 06, 1863. |
