International Naval Research Organization The INRO is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the encouragement of the study of naval vessels and their histories, principally in the era of iron and steel warships (about 1860 to date). Its purpose is to provide information and a means of contact for those interested in warships. Its quarterly journal, Warship International, is recognized internationally as the leading and most authoritative publication in the field.
Nautical Research Guild The Guild serves to link researchers in learning about ships and maritime history through academic research, as applied and expressed in the process of ship model building and other artistic and academic endeavors.
Naval Historical Center Located in Washington, D.C., the Center is the official history program of the U.S. Department of the Navy. It includes a museum, art gallery, research library, and archives, as well as research and writing programs. It is dedicated to enhancing the Navy's effectiveness by preserving, analyzing and interpreting its hard-earned experience and history for the Navy and the American people.
U.S. Army Center of Military History Located at Fort McNair in the District of Columbia, the Center is the official history program of the U.S. Army. It includes art galleries, research libraries, archives, and research and writing programs and oversees distribution of artifacts to the U.S. Army museum system.
U.S. Army Military History Institute Located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the Institute's mission is to preserve the Armys history and ensure access to historical research materials through its holdings which include books, manuscripts, photos, and maps.
U.S. Naval Institute Located in Annapolis, Maryland, on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy, the Institute was established to provide an open forum for the exchange of ideas, to disseminate and advance the knowledge of sea power, and to preserve our naval and maritime heritage. It is recognized as one of the world's foremost sources of knowledge of naval and military affairs.
