BASF Freedom Mile—Runners take your mark!  Join the Club South Runners for four one-mile races and a ˝-mile fun run from Casino Rouge to the USS KIDD.  Contact the Club South Runners and Mr. Ben Cherbonnier at 225-927-9200 for registration information, race applications, and age group race times or visit their website.

Tour the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial—Walk the decks of one of America's most outstanding historic vessels:  the USS KIDD (DD-661).  Explore the Veterans Memorial Museum and learn of the sacrifices made by our nation's veterans to insure the freedoms we celebrate on the Fourth.  Click Here for Admission Prices.

Food & Drink Booths Open—Food galore, from ice cream and pizza to hamburgers, funnel cakes, and spicy Cajun cuisine.  Ice cold soft drinks, beer, and bottled water will be on sale to quench your thirst.  All this and so much more!

American Girls—This ensemble of local talent features nine (9) Louisiana girls and ladies who are poised to be the next generation's leading ladies of country music.

Westbound Train—These veteran Baton Rouge musicians will put you in the mood to celebrate with a mixture of country, pop, rock, and oldies.

The Floyd Brown Band—Get your dancing shoes on and get ready to hear this Louisiana band perform such classics as Kiss Me Just One More Time, I Can't Sleep If I Can't Sleep With You, and Strokin'.

Fly-Over of F-15 Eagle Fighters of the Louisiana Air National Guard

 

Air Raid:  Baton Rouge! General Quarters!  General Quarters!  All hands to battle stations!  The USS KIDD is under attack by vintage World War II aircraft.  This reenactment is open to the public and can be viewed from the riverfront adjacent to the Main Stage.  Click Here for details on past performances.

Jenny Brooks—This singer/songwriter from Slidell is one of the up-and-coming country artists on the Nashville scene.  Having performed at world famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and on the Super Bowl halftime show with Doug Kershaw and Irma Thomas, Jenny promises a unique Louisiana flavor to her original songs, as well as a mix of your country favorites.  Her new CD Down In The Bayou is in stores now!

   
8:00 p.m. CST Baton Rouge Concert Band—The Concert Band returns with a medley of patriotic classics to lead the way into the fireworks.
   
9:00 p.m. CST WBRZ Channel 2 & The Advocate Present "Fireworks On The Mississippi," Sponsored by Local Lincoln Mercury Dealers — Come aboard and view one of the largest fireworks displays in Louisiana from the decks of the USS KIDD!  What better way to celebrate our nation's independence?  Tickets are $10.00 per person and will be available for purchase at the USS KIDD Gift Shop beginning Monday, June 22, 2009.  Supplies are limited.
