Fall Field Day '97: Held October 24-26, 1997. Thirteen (13) participants attending including one (1) former KIDD crew member. Those attending came from five (5) different states: Louisiana, Texas, Florida, Ohio, and Michigan. A special highlight was a visit by Mr. Tom Peltin of Tin Can Sailors, Inc.
Work progressed mostly in the area of the main battery director atop the pilothouse, with minor work being done in the restoration of the aft fireroom. Rain hampered outside work to some degree. Movement of the main battery director was restored by the end of the weekend.
Ms. Virginia Bailey served in the galley, providing meals throughout the weekend.
